I shoot at Hopton every season with an experienced team of guns who love it so much they are happy to travel from far and wide (Cotswolds/ Cheshire / N.Wales) to enjoy the experience. The quality of the birds is always excellent with the shoot team doing an amazing job to ensure each drive is challenging but fun with a consistent display of birds across every peg. In fact rarely do you get a quiet peg at Hopton. The hospitality is second to none. Whether the quality array of drinks and snacks in the field with stunning views of the countryside, or the home cooked local meal served in the cosy gun room, it’s always served up with a smile and great conversation. A great day out!

This was my first time shooting duck with David and what more can I say but, great people, great birds, great hospitality and of course great company.

Our roving syndicate have been together for a number of years and have always taken a day at Hopton. I honestly say that under David’s control it is the highlight of our shooting calendar.
As an ex keeper I am well aware of the work that goes on behind the scenes to present birds as skilfully as David does. Nothing is too much trouble for his team and the results are clear to see — everyone on the day, including keepers, beaters and pickers-up, have a smile on their face, and rightly so.
