What to Expect
David Morris Sporting offers traditional driven game shooting on the beautiful Hopton Court Estate and surrounding land in South Shropshire. Our days focus on enjoyable sport, well organised drives and a relaxed and friendly atmosphere that keeps many guns returning year after year.
The ground offers excellent variety, with drives set across parkland, arable land and woodland, producing sporting pheasant, partridge and duck throughout the season.
Although set in wonderful countryside, the shoot is still within easy travelling distance of Birmingham, the West Midlands and the Welsh Borders, making it an ideal location for those looking to enjoy a traditional day’s shooting without travelling too far.
We work with some great instructors who are able to coach novice or younger guns as well as challenging birds for the more experienced shot.
Syndicate and Corporate Days
Take a day for your team with excellent hospitality a well run day and fine sporting birds. Whether you are networking, teambuilding, saying thank you or spending time with old friends. A day's shooting at Hopton is a day well spent.
Individual Guns
We are able to offer individual guns, either as part of an existing syndicate or on put together 'casual' days.
Simulated Game
Simulated Game provides a great introduction to shooting, or way to keep your eye in out of season as well as being a lot of fun.
The Shooting
Our days are designed to provide sporting, shootable birds presented in a traditional manner, allowing guns to enjoy varied and challenging drives throughout the day.
The different types of ground across the estate allow us to present birds in a range of settings, from open parkland drives to woodland and valley drives that make the most of the natural contours of the land.
Our aim is always to provide quality sport with both shootable and challenging birds, ensuring that every drive offers enjoyable and memorable shooting.
A Typical Shoot Day
A typical day begins at 9.00am with the guns meeting in the morning for refreshments, either at Hopton Court, our Gun Room at heath Hills or the Hopton Crown before heading out to the first drive. The day usually consists of several drives across different parts of the estate, allowing everyone to experience the variety of the ground.
Guns may choose whether to dine at lunch time of the end of the day with a variety of dining packages available at Hopton Court, in Gun Room or out in the field.
At the end of the day many guests enjoy gathering for a drink at the nearby Hopton Crown, a well known local shooting pub just a short distance from the estate, often joined by members of the shoot team.
Guests
We are always pleased to welcome non shooting guests who would like to enjoy the day socially, whether joining the team between drives or simply for catering at the end of the day.
Corporate Shooting Days
We also welcome corporate shooting days and private group bookings, providing a memorable day in the countryside for colleagues or clients. Our team works hard to ensure the day runs smoothly, combining enjoyable sport with a relaxed and sociable atmosphere.
